West Coast ruckman Nic Naitanui will miss the Eagles' clash with GWS this Saturday after the AFL Tribunal upheld their initial one-match sanction for his tackle on Port Adelaide's Karl Amon.

Naitanui was initially handed a one-match ban from Match Review Officer Michael Christian, after he deemed the incident was assessed as careless conduct with medium impact to the head.

The Eagles failed in their bid to overturn the suspension, as the Tribunal denied West Coast's argument suggesting the conduct was of low impact instead of medium impact.

As a result, Naitanui will miss Saturday's clash with the Giants at Spotless Stadium, and the club have been sanctioned $10,000 for the failed appeal.
