Gold Coast rookie Izak Rankine will miss the next two months after suffering a hamstring injury during the Suns' JLT Community Series loss to Sydney.
Rankine was taken with pick three in the 2018 draft, although Head Physiotherapist Lindsay Bull said he'll face a delayed start to the season following the injury.
โUnfortunately, after a strong preseason, Izak strained his hamstring during a chase down tackle in the game against the Swans,โ Bull told the club's website.
โGiven the specifics of Izak's injury, the explosive nature with which he plays the game and where he is at in his career, weโll take a responsible approach with Izak and make sure his rehabilitation is thorough and sets him up well moving forwards.โ
Bad news for the Gold Coast Suns.
