Carlton AFLW captain Brianna Davey is set to request a move out of the club after the team’s disappointing season, according to foxfooty.com.au.

Only a day after Carlton announced the sacking of coach Damien Keeping, Davey is believed to be informing them of her desire to move to a rival club today.

The rumoured front runners to acquire the former All-Australian are North Melbourne and Collingwood.

For the Blues to receive anything in return for the defender, she would need to be traded to an already existing club.

If Davey chooses to go to either Geelong or North Melbourne, they would receive her for free.

The reigning best and fairest winner is believed to be unhappy with the direction of the club after the Blues failed to live up to expectations for the second year running.

Davey is not the only one underwhelmed with the club’s on field performance and it is rumoured a number of other players are considering a move from the club.

Carlton finished last on the AFLW ladder with only two wins for the season.

The 23-year-old has been sidelined since round two this year after she ruptured her ACL but she is expected to be fit for the 2019 season.

Carlton did not win a game without Davey in the side this season.

Before AFLW, the Carlton marquee player was a successful goalkeeper for the Matildas.
