Sydney defender Dane Rampe has signed a three-year contract extension, that will see him remain a Swan until at least the end of the 2022 season.

The 28-year-old was already contracted for the 2019 campaign, but decided to lock away his future early.

"It came together pretty easily, the club approached me a little bit earlier than I would have thought, but I'm obviously rapt," Rampe told afl.com.au.

"I think the club knew that as well, so it probably helped from their end."

The 2016 All-Australian played every game for the club this season, averaging 16.8 disposals, 5.4 marks and 4.9 rebound 50s.
