Gold Coast defender John Noble is free to play against Hawthorn in Round 7 after the club successfully overturned his one-match suspension at Tuesday's Tribunal hearing.
Noble was cited by the Match Review Officer (MRO) for an errant elbow to the throat of Essendon's Tom Edwards, which resulted in the forward leaving the ground for a Head Injury Assessment (HIA).
The incident was graded high contact, careless conduct and medium impact.
Noble gave evidence in the hearing, saying that Edwards' right foot slipped, ultimately lowering his body and contributing to the contact.
Vision of the incident supported this, and that the former Pie would've made contact with the Bombers' body had he not slipped.
The Tribunal found that both of Noble's feet were on the ground, and that his shoulder was not at the head height of Edwards.
Noble explained in evidence that immediately before he bumped Edwards, Edwards' right foot slipped, which resulted in the lowering of Edwards' body.
