Greater Western Sydney's Adam Tomlinson looks to be making plans to return home to Victoria in 2017.

The 193cm former top-10 draft pick has been the speculation of several trade rumours this season, with Carlton believed to be one of the clubs interested in the 23-year-old.

Zero Hanger understands that Tomlinson is currently looking to buy property in his home city of Melbourne, fueling speculation he could seek a trade at season's end.

He enjoyed an impressive back half of the year in 2016, playing the final eight games of the regular season, plus the elimination final against Sydney last Saturday afternoon.

However, Tomlinson publicly stated less than a fortnight ago that he will not be leaving the Giants.

“I’m definitely staying here,” Tomlinson told The Daily Telegraph 12 days ago.

“The club has shown a lot of faith in me by keeping me here last year. I had a rocky start to the year but it’s worked out.

“I’ve had to work very hard and it’s made me appreciate what I’ve done in the last eight weeks. I’m grateful to be here. We’re about to play finals and hopefully go a fair way in. If I’m playing finals here it’s worth it.”

But if Tomlinson leaves GWS, it would not be the first time a player has denied rumours of a possible departure, before seeking a trade at season's end.
