Port Adelaide captain Travis Boak has suffered a setback in his pre-season, injuring his hand at training.

Boak arrived at training on Monday with a metal guard on his right hand and heavy strapping on his wrist and hand.

The 29-year-old reportedly injured his hand while fending off a teammate in a drill last Friday.

The club says there is no fracture, however, his hand remains heavily swollen and bruised.

However, the Power will seek further medical advice should the injury not improve.
