The past 24 hours of the AFL trade landscape have been dominated by the speculation that surrounds contracted Melbourne midfielder Clayton Oliver.
The Demons are now said to be potentially open to a deal if the right offer arises, with clubs beginning to line up for the four-time best and fairest winner.
Free agents are also on the move, while a star Dog is continuing to gain interest from a Victorian rival.

Two clubs said to be keen on Clarry
Essendon and Adelaide have been identified as two clubs that are interested in contracted Melbourne midfielder Clayton Oliver in the wake of the speculation that has tied the star onballer to the exit.
Speaking on Trade Radio,ย Tom Morris revealed the two sides were showing some level of interest in Oliver, who is signed until the end of 2030.
Melbourne are said to be open to hearing offers for the 26-year-old but will only move Oliver on for the right deal.
While the Crows and Demons will sit down at some stage this trade period to discuss the future of wantaway forward Shane McAdam, 7News' Theo Doropolous has claimed Oliver's name could also enter the conversation.
As expressed by Doropolous on Twitter, Adelaide would likely be required to kick off conversations by offering pick 9, a future 1st, plus Shane McAdam to land Oliver.
The West Lakes club also holds picks 21 and 24 at the 2023 AFL Draft, as well as whatever they land as compensation for losing free agent Tom Doedee to Brisbane.

Doedee decides on Lions after four-club race
Adelaide free agent has identified Adelaide as his preferred landing spot following interest from Collingwood and Sydney.
The Lions have also beaten out the Crows to land Doedee's services, with Adelaide now needing to weigh up whether they'll match Brisbane's bid and force a trade or accept the offer and secure free agency compensation instead.
Both clubs confirmed Doedee's intentions on Wednesday.

Potential landing spots for Clayton Oliver
It will take an extraordinary offer to satisfy Melbourne and see them trade Clayton Oliver to a rival club, but some clubs could have the capital that gains the Demons' interest.

Eagle-eyed Giants seeks off-season shift
Backup Giants ruckย Matthew Flynnย has formally requested a move, alerting GWS to his desire to land at Lathlain and join West Coast.
Flynn'sย AFLย life may have begun after being selected with the 41st pick of the 2015 draft, however, the Narrandera native wouldn't make his league debut until Round 1 of the 2021 season.
However, following the ascent of fellow ruck Kieran Briggs in 2023, the 26-year-old was demoted back to his role as understudy, featuring just nine times duringย Adam Kingsley's first year as coach.
Out of contract at Tom Wills Oval, and unwilling to duke it out for the main job, Flynn requested a trade to the Eagles on Wednesday, as per reports from Riley Beveridge ofย AFLย Media.

Is homecoming in the cards for Port mid?
Port Adelaide wingerย Xavier Duursmaย is said to have garnered the interest of several Victorian clubs in the lead up the the 2023ย AFLย Trade Period.
Duursma has called Alberton home since being selected with the 18th pick of the 2018 draft, however, as a native of Foster in Gippsland, the lure of a move back to his state of origin could prove potent.
Yet, as reported by Callum Twomey ofย AFL Media,ย an unspecified number of Victorian teams have raised interest in prising the 23-year-old loose during the exchange period.

Hawks reportedly still chasing Smith
Hawthorn are said to have Pick 3 on offer to the Western Bulldogs as they continue their pursuit of Bailey Smith.
Smith was linked to the Hawks and Cats earlier this year but has had trade speculation refuted by the club despite the interest.
The Hawks are reportedly open to handing the Dogs Pick 3 to acquire Smith out of Whitten Oval.

Eagles could be open to moving on midfielder
West Coast midfielder Elliot Yeo is said to be one to watch over the coming weeks despite his contract status.
Gold Coast have been named as one club that came calling for Yeo this year and the premiership Eagle is viewed as no certainty to remain out west.
The Eagles could be tempted by a strong offer as they look to place a focus on youth.

Swans favoured to land Dockers free agent
Fremantle defender Joel Hamling is expected to make his way to Sydney over the next week or so as the Swans look to add to their backline.
Hamling has a deal on the table from the Dockers as well as reported interest from Victorian clubs.
Collingwood have been identified as a potential suitor also after missing out on Adelaide free agent Tom Doedee.

Cats interested in cut Bulldog
Geelong are said to have delisted Western Bulldogs utility Tim O'Brien on their radar for what could be a potential delisted free agency acquisition for the Cats.
O'Brien was cut by the Bulldogs after seven games this year and is now looking for a third club after starting his career with Hawthorn.
The veteran high-flyer could be a recruitment target for the Cats given the expected departure of swingman Esava Ratugolea.

Harmes looking for new club
Melbourne midfielder James Harmes has revealed he's searching for a new home despite being signed with the Demons for the next 12 months.
Harmes has struggled for opportunities this year and is said to have been granted approval from Melbourne to assess his options elsewhere.
Richmond could be a club that comes calling given Harmes' ties with new Tigers coach Adem Yze during the pair's time together in the red and blue.

Suns showing interest in delisted Saints forward
Gold Coast is reportedly interested in a potential move for recently delisted St Kilda youngster Jack Peris.
Peris made just one appearance for the Saints during his two-year stint at Moorabbin, with his debut ironically coming against the Suns earlier this year.
Delisted free agency will open on November 1, with Peris potentially securing a lifeline with a move to Carrara.
