The trade train has kept on rolling, and if anything, it has only picked up pace as the off-season for all 18 clubs nears.

The past week saw up to nine players lodge requests for moves to rival clubs, while more new faces have emerged as talks continue to heat up.

The Dockers, Power and Magpies are again at the forefront of the latest trade news and rumours, while Geelong are also seeing a shift in their targets for 2023.

Here's all the latest trade news from the past few days...

Eagles and Dockers in Jackson mix after trade request

Despite perennially being linked with their geographic rivals, West Coast's list manager Rohan O'Brien has claimed the Eagles won't let Luke Jackson walk to Fremantle without a fight.

Less than 12 months after obtaining premiership glory as a Demon, the Melbourne Football Club announced on Tuesday that their prized ruckman would be seeking a trade home during the upcoming exchange period.

Yet, while Jackson had been tied in most minds to a future in purple and white, the Demons expressed that they remained open to dealing with both Western Australian outfits in an effort to garner the strongest possible return.

Speaking in the wake of the Redlegs' revelations, O'Brien claimed that the Eagles would be engaging in conversations regarding the Rising Star.

“There’s an air of confidence that we think we can convince him and hopefully get the deal done," O'Brien told SEN WA Breakfast on Wednesday.

“But as I’ve said, opportunities like Luke don’t come around very often so when they do come along you’d be remiss not to explore them and put your best foot forward.”

Four Dockers set to depart, Lobb denied trade

Fremantle tall Griffin Logue has requested a trade to Victoria, with North Melbourne tipped as the leading club to land the Dockers defender, while Blues target Blake Acres has also requested a move.

Logue has long been linked to a Melbourne move, with his contract coming to an end and his place in Justin Longmuir's backline pecking order failing to rise.

The WA product was even utilised as a forward option throughout the back half of the season, with Logue unable to cement a leading role at either end of the field.

With Fremantle also setting money aside for their pursuit of Demon Luke Jackson, Logue isn't alone in looking elsewhere for greater opportunities.

Acres has also requested a move east, with the Blues primed to land the wingman, while Darcy Tucker, who has been linked with the Roos, is seeking opportunities elsewhere.

7 News have reported that ruckman Lloyd Meek has also been granted the power to assess his options for 2023.

Meanwhile, given Rory Lobb's importance and contract status with the Dockers, Fremantle have looked to shut down chances of the tall's trade plans.

Long seeks move north

Rebounding Saint Ben Long has told St Kilda powerbrokers of his desire to be traded to the Gold Coast Suns.

Long is without a contract at Moorabbin for the 2023 season, and despite recent meetings with North Melbourne, the 25-year-old looks set to take up an offer from the Carrara club.

The Linton Street side confirmed Long's request on Wednesday afternoon, with list manager James Gallagher claiming an offer to stay on with the Saints still remained before Long.

“Ben has had a contract offer from the Club for a number of months now, so we’re naturally disappointed to receive this news, particularly as we believe Ben has a lot of good football in front of him,” Gallagher said within a prepared statement.

Premiership Eagle requests Power move

West Coast forward Junior Rioli has lodged a request to be traded to Port Adelaide this off-season.

Rioli recently toured Alberton and met with key figures of the club, including senior coach Ken Hinkley, football boss Chris Davies and premiership great Shaun Burgoyne.

The Tiwi Islands product's contract expired with this season, a spell that included a 717-day drought between games due to a doping ban handed down by ASADA in 2019.

A member of the Eagles' 2018 premiership side, Rioli is now expected to sever ties with West Coast in a move to Port Adelaide for 2023 and beyond.

“We could not have done any more to support Junior since his infraction in 2019,” West Coast CEO Trevor Nisbett said in a club statement.

“We facilitated his appeal and subsequent return to football, so this decision is bitterly disappointing."

Lions leading race for off-contract Bulldog

Brisbane has emerged as the frontrunner to secure the services of Western Bulldogs midfielder Josh Dunkley.

Dunkley, 25, is yet to agree to a fresh extension with the Whitten Oval side, despite his manager, Liam Pickering, stating in September of last year that he expected a deal to be done.

Dunkley had previously met with Essendon in regards to a trade, however, it is now the Lions that are seen as the likely landing place for the 2016 premiership winner.

Still, as reported by 7News' Mitch Cleary, the Sunshine State side is not the only horse in the race.

With Dunkley's partner, Tippah Dwan, currently contracted to play Super Netball for the Adelaide Thunderbirds, Port Adelaide has thrown their hat in the ring in an effort to unite the pair in the City of Churches.

Pies forward link to Kardinia Park

Collingwood forward Oliver Henry is expected to request a trade Geelong in the coming days, a move that would see the former first-round draftee play alongside older brother Jack.

Henry became a Pie after being selected with the 17th pick of the 2020 National Draft, however, with Collingwood in the midst of luring Lion Daniel McStay and wantaway Giant Bobby Hill to the club, the 20-year-old's opportunities for growth in a black and white guernsey may soon be stunted.

According to reports from SEN's Sam Edmund, the young forward was suitably unimpressed by the Magpies' latest retention offer and is said to be keen to seek greener pastures.

“Ollie Henry is the other one, he wants to get to Geelong now,” Edmund said on Wednesday morning.

Bruhn seeking Cats move

Wantaway Giant Tanner Bruhn is understood to have nominated Geelong as his preferred landing spot for 2023 as he looks to sever ties with GWS after just two years.

GeelongNorth Melbourne and Hawthorn have all been linked to the 20-year-old, who has played 30 games for the Giants since joining the club as the 12th overall selection in the 2020 National Draft.

The three-horse race is now reportedly decided, with AFL.com.au's Cal Twomey revealing Bruhn has nominated the Cats as his favoured destination for next season.

While Bruhn's contract is expiring, the Cats and Giants will need to broker a trade to see the young midfielder land at Kardinia Park.

Frampton step closer to Collingwood move

Adelaide swingman Billy Frampton is understood to have declared his desire to be traded to Collingwood this off-season.

Frampton has been linked to the Magpies in recent weeks, with Craig McRae's side looking to bolster their key-position stocks for 2023.

Unsigned for next season and recently holding his exit meeting at West Lakes, Frampton has now reportedly disclosed his preference for a move to the Magpies, according to AFL.com.au's Cal Twomey.

Frampton managed just the six appearances for Adelaide this season, tallying just 24 matches at AFL level since making his debut with Port Adelaide in 2018.

Blues respond to shock Williams rumour

Carlton are understood to have rubbished a report suggesting contracted midfielder Zac Williams is "gettable" as a trade target this off-season.

Williams' time at Princes Park hasn't been the smoothest, playing just 23 games in the navy blue since arriving from Greater Western Sydney at the end of the 2020 season.

Two years into his long-term deal with Carlton, Williams has been named to be on offer to rival clubs, with RSN's Mark Stevens stating murmurs suggest the Blues might be open to parting ways with their defender-midfielder hybrid.

According to Fox Footy's David Zita, the Blues have "categorically" denied the suggestion Williams is being shopped around the league, with the club seeing the serviceable ball-winner as a required player for 2023 and beyond.

Power 'ramping up' Pickett pursuit

Port Adelaide are reportedly interested in securing the services of Kysaiah Pickett, per reports from SEN's Michelangelo Rucci.

Despite the premiership Demon remaining contracted to the club until the conclusion of the 2023 season, the Power are still trying to get Pickett to South Australia.

Speaking on SEN SA's The Run Home, Rucci said that while the Power wasn't a huge chance of landing the 21-year-old at this stage, they're not backing down from their campaign.

Melbourne has got Luke Jackson out the door and at the other end of the clubhouse they’ve got Kozzie Pickett sitting there with Port Adelaide making all sorts of lures to him to get him,” Rucci said.

“I don’t know about ‘legitimate chance’ (to get Pickett this year) but I know there’s a legitimate campaign, they’re certainly trying, they haven’t stopped trying and they’re ramping it up.”

Power wary of interest in young gun

The West Coast Eagles are reportedly ready to "mount a raid" on Port Adelaide's Mitch Georgiades.

Contracted until the end of 2023, Georgiades has so far declined to sign an extension at Port Adelaide this season.

The 20-year-old finished the season with 21 Goals — down from 32 last year. Georgiades was dropped twice in season 2022, struggling with his set shot and form in front of goal.

Though not yet mentioned in the Junior Rioli trade talks, Port Adelaide has an "element of concern" over the young forward's contract, according to SEN's Sam Edmund.

The Eagles hoped to draft Georgiades in 2019, but are now well-poised to make the move with picks 2, 20, and 26 on hand.

Delisted Hawk gaining attention

Delisted Hawthorn winger Tom Phillips could be set to join his third club, with reports that Essendon has set their sights on the endurance runner.

As a proven pacy option, Phillips is said to have entered Essendon's plans for the 2023 season, with AFL Media's Callum Twomey claiming on SEN that a lifeline could well eventuate.

“The Bombers are looking for some running depth to add to their midfield squad,” Twomey said.

“They’ve unearthed Nic Martin and Sam Durham as well as wingman, but they are a bit light-on in that area and are keen to increase their running power.

Three sides linked to Dees forward

Out-of-contract Melbourne forward Toby Bedford is understood to have gained the attention of three rival clubs this off-season, while a deal from the Demons has reportedly been tabled.

The Demons small forward managed to boot nine goals this year, with his opportunities limited given in his place toward the back of the pecking order behind premiership goalsneaks in Kysaiah Pickett and Charlie Spargo.

The 18-gamer's situation has seemingly piqued interest from clubs keen to sharpen their spears for 2023, with SEN's Sam Edmund reporting North MelbourneEssendon and GWS have Bedford on their radar.

Melbourne has tabled a deal to Bedford, who looks to have put talks on hold given the club's VFL side is yet to see their season conclude amid a premiership push.

Melbourne will be hopeful of Bedford re-signing in the red and blue for 2023 and beyond, with the aforementioned Pickett having been linked to a potential return to South Australia as Port Adelaide circle.

Five clubs in race for Power defender

Port Adelaide youngster Martin Frederick could join his brother Michael in Western Australia next season, but could be doing so in the blue and gold through a trade with West Coast.

The 22-year-old is currently unsigned for next season and faces an uncertain future, having played just 14 games since landing at Alberton through the 2018 National Draft as a Category B Rookie.

According to The West Australian, the Eagles are one of five clubs that have Frederick on their radar this off-season, with the South Australia-born backman seen as a potential trade piece in negotiations between Port Adelaide and West Coast for Junior Rioli.

The Eagles confirmed earlier this week that their premiership forward had informed the club of his intentions to depart, with the Lathlain Park side set to green light Rioli's request with some level of reluctance.

The situation has reportedly seen them set some attention of their own on Frederick, who could add to a struggling West Coast outfit in need of newfound depth.

"Salary cap threat" hits Suns

Despite having several names already linked to the exit, Gold Coast could still see surprising names depart Carrara this off-season amid reports the Suns may potentially be forced into a "salary dump trade".

The Suns are already bracing for a bevy of senior players to request trades to new clubs for 2023, while star forward Izak Rankine has already flagged his desire to join Adelaide on a lucrative, long-term deal to return to his home state.

Midfielder Brayden Fiorini (Collingwood), defender Jeremy Sharp (Fremantle/West Coast) and forward Josh Corbett (Fremantle) have been linked to keen suitors this season in what has still been a year of great retention for Gold Coast.

But the pressure to retain key names won't end with this season given midfielder stalwarts Matthew Rowell and Noah Anderson enter the final year of their contracts next year.

The situation could see the Suns "pull the trigger" on an attempt to break ongoing salary strains that are a result of the club continuing to pay a premium to retain squad members.

According to SEN's Sam Edmund, Gold Coast's position could force key names out.
