New Melbourne coach Steven King told the Demons' faithful at Tuesday night's AGM that he wanted “to make training harder than games”.
King, clearly, is a man of his word.
The Demons trained for more than three hours on Wednesday, with match simulation at Gosch's Paddock followed by an impromptu running session at The Tan.
They were pushed to the limit in match play in the heat, with Kysaiah Pickett continuing to stand out as a dynamic midfield option.
Steven May was put through a gruelling lone running session off to the side in the final session before the players' Christmas break.
Recruit Brody Mihocek worked with the rehab group alongside Jack Viney as match sim unfolded.
Jai Culley's physicality and athleticism continues to impress regular Demons track watchers, snapping a brilliant left-foot goal and looking every bit a Round 1 lock.
