Melbourne have reportedly offered two future first-round selections to each of North Melbourne, Essendon and the Gold Coast Suns in an attempt to trade into the top five of next week's National Draft.

The Demons are said to have been "really aggressive" in trying to trade up from No. 13 into the first five selections, however, no trade eventuated.

"They put a package of picks together including their two future first-round picks and also another pick selection within that to try and get Gold Coast's pick five, Essendon's pick four, or North Melbourne's pick three," AFL Media's Cal Twomey said on Road to the Draft.

"Those clubs are holding firm and wanting to stay at that part of the draft at this point."

Twomey's comments were corroborated by The Age's Peter Ryan and Marc McGowan, who recently reported that clubs currently slated to pick inside the top ten are unwilling to trade out.

Further, the Dees are said to be strongly considering trading a future first-round pick for GWS' Pick 19; the pivotal selection that will kick off the second round of proceedings next Tuesday evening.

Melbourne have previously found strong results from trading into drafts, having acquired forward Kysaiah Pickett after trading for Pick 12 of the 2019 draft.
