Delisted St Kilda tall Harry Boyd is understood to be on the radar of Fremantle as the Dockers look to bolster their depth ruck options.

The Dockers bid farewell to third-string big man Liam Reidy on Tuesday as Fremantle and Carlton agreed to a trade that saw the Victorian return to his home state and a trio of later picks swap hands.

Reidy, who played three games across his three seasons with the Dockers, was often positioned as a ready-made support option for lead ruck duo Sean Darcy and Luke Jackson.

An opportunity at Carlton has seen Reidy venture to Princes Park in the hope of securing the top ruck role, while it has left Fremantle with a gap in its selection pecking order.

Boyd, a Magarey Medal winner with Norwood prior to moving to St Kilda last summer as a Supplemental Selection Period acquisition, has emerged as a potential target for the Dockers this off-season, per 7 News Perth's Ryan Daniels.

The 198cm ruckman made his debut in St Kilda's season opener against Adelaide this year before spending the rest of his maiden AFL campaign at VFL level.

Boyd recorded 12 disposals and 27 hitouts in that showing before dominating the state league level for Sandringham.

The Norwood product earned interest from AFL clubs late into 2024 off the back of his stellar season with the Redlegs, which saw him recognised as the SANFL's best and fairest.

Boyd, should he earn a lifeline with Fremantle, is most likely to do so via the SSP or delisted free agency windows, which will open after the draft period in mid-late November.
