Hawthorn great Dermott Brereton has little faith in the Suns' 2019 prospects, claiming that Stewart Dew's team will only win two games.

Following a four-win campaign that saw co-captains Tom Lynch and Steven May depart the club in the off-season, Gold Coast have committed to yet another rebuild.

And Brereton holds great concern over how badly the expansion team might fall this season.

They’re that young against a very professional competition. You don’t win them by accident, they’re so young,” he told SEN’s KB and The Doc.

“They’ll probably come away with one or two wins for the year.

“I hope they make the finals and win 14 games, but if you want me to tell the truth, I reckon a maximum of one maybe two games are what they’re going to win.”

Gold Coast meet the Saints this Sunday in their opening clash for the season.
