Ablett “will play round one”

Geelong star Gary Ablett will feature in their round one clash against Melbourne, according to his manager Liam Pickering. 

Speaking on SEN Breakfast, Pickering believes Ablett is a certainty for the Sunday week clash, words that will be music to all Geelong fans ears. 

“He is very confident,” Pickering said. 

“100 percent I think he will play.

“My understanding talking to him is he will play round one.

“He was half a chance to play on Sunday, and of course the Cats were smart being conservative."

Ablett suffered the setback to his preseason just under three weeks ago, raising questions over his status for the season opener. 

“Another two weeks on that hammy, it will be about a five-weeker," Pickering added. 

“He will be fine by then.”
