The Dogs have been hunting a big-name target, but, like others, they'll likely fall short. Their play for Zak Butters could pay off next year, but for 2025, it seems they'll look elsewhere. Carlton's Jack Silvagni is one name they tried to lure to Footscray, with the wantaway Blue initially seen as a perfect fit for what Luke Beveridge needs. Richmond's Tylar Young is another key defender tied to the Dogs, who were also been linked to Jacob Wehr and Neil Erasmus from GWS and Fremantle, respectively, before they opted for elsewhere.
