Western Bulldogs forward Jamarra Ugle-Hagan touched down in the Gold Coast in anticipation of a suspected meeting with the Suns in the hope of reviving his AFL career.

Ugle-Hagan didn't feature at any level in 2025, citing personal issues that began in the finals series the previous year.

The former Pick 1 is contracted for 2026, but it is largely believed that the Bulldogs want a fresh start, and ultimately, his reported $900,000 price tag, according to Channel 9's Tom Morris.

It is understood that Gold Coast are doing its "due diligence" on Ugle-Hagan.

"Obviously, it's the dream to play AFL football," Ugle-Hagan told Channel 9.

"I definitely want to play footy... 100 per cent.

"It's a good spot for a holiday. I'm definitely going to go Movie World, that's my main job. I haven't been on any of those rides. We will see what happens."

Ugle-Hagan has played 67 senior games, kicking 103 goals since the 2020 National Draft.

It comes as the Suns have an interest in acquiring Charlie Curnow and Jamie Elliott.

Curnow is contracted at Carlton until the end of 2029, so a deal to lure the two-time Coleman medallist would be tricky.

However, Elliott has been tabled a three-year deal by Gold Coast, and is weighing up his future at Collingwood or in Queensland.

The 2025 free agency period will begin on Friday, October 3, while the trade period opens on Monday, October 6.
