Melbourne defender Steven May was absent from the Demons' intense training session at Gosch's Paddock on Wednesday, casting doubt over his status for the upcoming pre-season matches.
May's absence comes after News Corp reported last Friday that May was visited by police at his house on Thursday.
The Demons are expected to issue a statement regarding the matter on Wednesday.
Jack Viney also sat out the intense session, continuing to battle soreness in his achilles, as his timeline to return to full pre-season training remains unclear.
There were several more Demons who did not take part in the match simulation activities, though positive recovery progress appears to have been made on a number of fronts in the cohort.
Jack Henderson was up and running after spending a stint on the sideline with a back injury, while Harrison Petty, Andy Moniz-Wakefield and Luker Kentfield completed one-on-one marking drills with some contact, except for Kentfield, who was donning the fluro non-contact cap.
Bailey Laurie, Changkuoth Jiath, Christian Salem and Aidan Johnson rounded out the injured cohort, completing light running duties away from the group. Jake Melksham also completed running duties while the main group engaged in an intense match simulation, but ran to a more intense extent than the others.
Max Gawn completed the full session with the main group, looking dominant in the ruck and in the air during the match simulation. However, his left hand continues to be taped up to protect a healing fractured finger.
Kysaiah Pickett looked excellent in his time spent with the midfield group but as dangerous as ever inside forward 50, kicking two impressive snaps during the match sim.
