Melbourne skipper Max Gawn completed a lengthy session at full-tilt on Wednesday morning, allaying any hamstring fears.
Gawn underwent a scan before Saturday night's State of Origin clash after reporting tightness.
He got through that game despite the less-than-ideal preparation and showed no signs of injury at Gosch's Paddock as the Demons rounded off preparations for Friday's practice hitout against North Melbourne.
One of the Demons' other headline acts, Steven May, remained absent and on leave.
May has been away from the club for more than a fortnight and was already playing catch-up on fitness. As the days stretch on, May's chances of playing at the Demons again drastically diminish.
Jake Bowey showed positive signs, taking steady steps back on the track after surgery to repair a Lisfranc injury.
Jai Culley joined in full ground simulation drills, albeit with a no contact cap on. He still has tape on his recently broken arm, but did enough to suggest he could be a chance to open the season.
Culley had been one of the standout performers across the summer for Melbourne prior to the injury.
Club legend Aaron Davey was an interested onlooker. The man they call "Flash" is now based in northern Queensland.
His son Marley is a promising prospect now boarding at Xavier College in Melbourne.
The Demons' Casey Fields practice match against North Melbourne on Friday kicks off at 4pm.
