There was no doubting that Ikon Park needed a shake-up after falling from finals contention in 2025, putting head coach Michael Voss in the gun.

But the Blues backed Voss, helped by the new CEO Graham Wright, but still heaped immense change to the playing list and football department.

Carlton farewelled 11 players, notably Charlie Curnow, Tom De Koning and third-generation Silvagni, Jack, as their overhaul began.

The likes of Ben Ainsworth, Ollie Florent, Will Hayward, Liam Reidy and Campbell Chesser eased the losses of club stalwarts, as a breath of fresh air from the new assistant coaches and head of football will attempt to revive the Victorian powerhouse.

Wright, who has been coined the agent of change, made his presence felt immediately, and in this competition, sitting still gets you nowhere.

He, along with other strong figures, recognised the desperate need for change, which cannot be faltered.
