West Coast prized pick Cooper Duff-Tytler has already stated his intentions to become the AFL's next star big man, and he has plenty of idols he can look up to.
Last week, Duff-Tytler was secured by the Eagles with Pick 4, following their first selection and opening pick of 2025, Willem Duursma.
The pair have been touted as the shining light for the rebuilding club, which has secured two wooden spoons in the past three years.
Duff-Tytler's incredible athleticism and vision can be attributed to his basketball background, a sport he moved on from in his pursuit of AFL status 12 months ago.
But the young Eagle has already begun plucking certain attributes of a top-flight ruckman throughout his draft year, which saw the Calder Cannons product emerge as a Pick 1 fancy.
Fremantle's Luke Jackson and St Kilda's Tom De Koning immediately spring to Duff-Tytler's mind, while Adelaide's Riley Thilthorpe is also one he watches closely.
"His versatility - he's been playing midfield, ruck, forward, wherever he's needed," Duff-Tytler said of Jackson.
"So if I can do something like that, it'd be pretty good.
"Luke Jackson and Tom De Koning, you just try and pull things out of their game that you can put into yours, as well as Riley Thilthorpe.
"It's not really one person that you want to play exactly like. It's more just multiple players, and you try and pull what you can out of their game and stuff that you need to work on, strengths that you share and stuff."
Furthering his development will be the assistance from three-time All-Australian and Eagle great Nic Naitanui, who recreated the meaning and look of ruck work.
Naitanui was Pick 2 in the 2008 draft, and was heralded as a game-changer, utilising his leap and explosiveness to topple opposition ruckmen whilst also providing help at ground level alongside his midfielders.
"Watching him as a kid, he was always pretty amazing," he said.
"He's one of those players that you buy a ticket to sit and watch, because he can do some crazy stuff on the field.
"He's very knowledgeable. He was giving out some of that advice now and using different hands, soft touch, hit zones... It was just the basics today.
"To be able to learn from him, it will be amazing."
Duff-Tytler will wear the No.21 next season, taking over from Jack Petruccelle. Quinten Lynch is the most capped player in the guernsey, playing 209 games, including the 2006 premiership.
