When Zero Digital Sports was first founded in December of 2014, it was probably not in anyone's wildest imagination that we'd still be sitting here a decade later with millions of Australians consuming our content every month.
Dating back to the end of 2014 - a period which fell right in the middle of Essendon's supplements saga, and just months after Hawthorn collected their second of three straight premierships - much has happened in the football world.
From legends and teams etching their names into the history books, to scandals, tragedies, and shocks, the past 10 years alone have been filled with memorable and infamous moments - both on and off the field.
So, without further ado, here are 10 of the biggest stories since the inception of Zero Digital Sports in December 2014.
9. 'Buddy' boots goal #1000
It could be the last time we see anything like it again.
In a changing modern game, the scoreboard dominance of key forwards has faded away since the turn of the 2010s decade. Ironically, it was Lance 'Buddy' Franklin who was the latest player to kick over 100 goals in a season, back in 2008, whilst just Josh Kennedy of the Eagles has cracked the 80 mark in a home and away season in the last 10 years.
28 individuals have booted 100 goals in a season, but, prior to 'Buddy', only five had reached the immortal status of kicking a career 1000th.

Franklin entered Round 2 of the 2022 AFL season four goals shy of the monumental feat. He kicked a goal on the cusp of quarter-time before nailing two more in the third term to reach 999.
Then, with six minutes to play in the final quarter, Franklin was hit perfectly on the lead by Chad Warner, presenting one of the AFL's greatest forwards with his legacy-defining moment.

Franklin cooly drills the set shot, and as James Brayshaw's iconic "the legend becomes immortal" commentary rang in the ears of millions of TV viewers, thousands of supporters charged the field in a unique AFL tradition seen rarely in the modern day.
Swarmed by fans to celebrate a feat reached for the first time since Gary Ablett Sr in 1996, Franklin embraced the attention as a 36-minute delay of the game ensued. The 1000th goal placed Franklin in a different stratosphere compared to his current-day competitors, joining the likes of Tony Lockett (1360 goals), Gordon Coventry (1299), Jason Dunstall (1254), Doug Wade (1057) and the aforementioned Gary Ablett (1031).
