Gold Coast list and player strategy lead Craig Cameron has reaffirmed the club's stance on Bailey Humphrey's future in the wake of an intriguing Instagram post from the Suns young gun this week.

Humphrey, who returned to Victoria last week, posted a carousel of images with the John Denver anthem Take Me Home, Country Roads soundtracking the post.

The eyebrow-raising post from Humphrey comes amid trade speculation surrounding the 21-year-old's future, with the Moe product having met with multiple rival clubs in recent days despite being contracted until the end of 2028.

On numerous occasions in the past week, the Suns have stood firm that Humphrery won't be traded, with Cameron echoing that sentiment on Thursday morning in an interview on Trade Radio.

Cameron, who admitted the situation with Humphrey has been "unusual", stressed that the Suns won't be accepting calls for the Victorian young gun.

"Not in so many words (has he requested a trade), but we are not naive to think that if you visit a number of clubs, that that's not on your mind," he said.

"We are really clear. We are not trading Bailey Humphrey, it's just not something we're going to entertain.

"The landscape has changed and is still evolving around contracted players looking to change clubs. As an industry, we have to accept that that's what the landscape now is.

"The flip side of that for players and managers have to accept that they can ask the question, but when a player is contracted and the club says no, that's the answer.

"It's a two-way street. Once a club is definitive with its answer, that's what's got to be accepted.

"I would prefer that this hasn't played out the way its played out so publicly. It is unusual. I have been around a while, and I haven't seen anything like this play out the way it has to be honest."

Humphrey has met with Melbourne, who are in talks over a deal that will see Norm Smith Medal winner Christian Petracca head north to Carrara.

Cameron confirmed there had been "preliminary discussions" with the Demons, but the expectation is that an agreement could "take a while".

AFL draft system set for massive overhaul

The Suns are also set to secure young Western Bulldogs forward Jamarra Ugle-Hagan, having reportedly tabled a deal to the former No.1 pick

The arrival of Ugle-Hagan has raised questions over their tall forward mix, having relied on Ben King and young duo Ethan Read and Jed Walter for most of 2025.

Links to Coleman Medal winner Charlie Curnow saw Walter's name linked to the exit, with Ugle-Hagan's move to the Gold Coast doing the same.

Cameron revealed no club had come for Walter, who can fit into a forward line with the other three talls if required.

"No one has rung us about Walter," Cameron added.

"I think Jed, Jamarra, Ethan and Ben can play (together), especially now with five on the bench.

"Ethan, with his ability to play second ruck and with his running ability, gives him flexibility where he can play on the ground.

"Jed is a different player to Jamarra and Ben. He's a really powerful forward and he's just learning his craft."

The Suns acquired Pick 7 in a trade with St Kilda on Wednesday that saw Sam Flanders land at Moorabbin.
