St Kilda star remains "undecided" as formal contract is offered

Saints young gun Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera is reportedly still "very undecided" on which club he will play for in 2026 and beyond, despite formally receiving a contract offer from St Kilda this week.

St Kilda is prepared to match rivals Adelaide and Port Adelaide in its offer to their star, with a reported contract length of at least two years, valued at over $1.2 million per season.

However, close friend of Wanganeen-Milera and recently extended Port Adelaide winger Jase Burgoyne told media on Thursday that the 22-year-old is still weighing up his options, and has given Nasiah a sales pitch on life at Alberton.

"I said to him, think about it. We're going to have fun. You got me here, [Horne-Francis] here. He knows some of the other boys as well, like Josh SinnAFL is obviously a serious job for us but I said to him, 'think about the fun we could have as well'."

Rival teams will be keeping an eye on Bombers forward Kyle Langford as his frustrations reportedly mount with Essendon's continued injury crisis and high-performance issues.

Langford is one of several Bombers to face a soft-tissue setback this season and reportedly could have his head turned before his contract expires in 2027.

Since joining the Bombers as a first-round selection in 2014, Langford has played 159 games, playing more than 20 matches only twice.

Brisbane premiership figure weighing up future

Lions key defender Brandon Starcevich is "seriously contemplating" his future with the club, reports suggest.

Starcevich will be a restricted free agent at the end of this season, and with no extension on the table yet, could make a move to one of two reported clubs who are monitoring his situation.

Growing up in Victoria, two teams look set to inquire about the defender; Essendon and North Melbourne.

Clubs monitoring two Demon defenders

Melbourne backmen Jake Lever and Judd McVee will enter this year's trade period as players to watch after unique circumstances have made rival clubs aware of their situation.

Lever was reportedly "blindsided" by the Melbourne selection panel's decision to drop him for their Round 16 game against Gold Coast, leaving him "angry" and feeling "disrespected" by the bold call. However, Lever still has multiple years left on his current deal with the Demons, his contract expiring in 2028.

Per Channel 9's Tom Morris, "rival clubs are aware of how frustrated he was and how angry he was, and they're just keeping an eye on it now."

McVee, on the other hand, has halted contract talks with the Demons, despite entering free agency at the conclusion of this season and having an offer on the table since last year.

McVee, who hails from Western Australia, could find interest from the Eagles and Dockers, but is yet to entertain offers from opposing teams.

Saints star open to move

With Tom De Koning's arrival at Moorabbin potentially on the cards, current St Kilda ruck Rowan Marshall could seek a move elsewhere to maintain his role as number one ruck.

Geelong are understood to be assessing the situation despite the ruck having two years remaining on his current contract.

Eagles willing to trade potential compensation pick

West Coast are open to trading what would likely be the second pick in the 2025 National Draft, assuming captain Oscar Allen departs at the end of the season.

The Eagles are 'loosely planning' to split the pick, with the Suns deemed to be a potential target in trade conversations, considering their plans to bid for Academy talent.

West Coast could attempt to acquire Picks 8 and 12 from the Suns in exchange for Pick 2, a swap which would allow West Coast to stock up on young talent in a desperate bid to accelerate the club's rebuild.

What Melbourne's off-season plan could look like

The Melbourne Demons are at a crossroads. Despite retaining almost every key player from their 2021 premiership season, the Dees have taken a dramatic tumble down the standings in 2025 and desperately require a deeper supporting cast to support their core four of superstars - several of whom could demand trades this off-season if things don't improve.

We listed five options for Melbourne to target.
