St Kilda ruckman Rowan Marshall says he'd welcome Carlton free agent Tom De Koning to the club amid a potential squeeze at Moorabbin.

De Koning is seemingly heading to the Saints on a monster deal that the Blues will not match, which is in the vicinity of $1.7 million per year for seven seasons.

The Carlton tall's impending arrival at St Kilda begged the question of Marshall's future, and whether the pair could work in tandem, or if a rival would begin swooping.

Geelong, as per, has been floated as a potential destination for the 29-year-old as they look to bolster their impressive list with a ruckman.

But when quizzed on Monday following the greatest three-quarter time comeback win over Melbourne at Marvel Stadium, Marshall, who is reportedly "open" to a move, played a straight bat.

"Obviously, he's a great player, so I guess whatever's going to make us better," Marshall said.

"That's what we're trying to do, and he'll make us a better team.

"This is going to sound so cliché, but I haven't really given it too much thought. There's four games left and I'm employed by the St Kilda Football Club to rock up each week and perform. That's just my sole focus at the minute.

"My last two or three weeks have been pretty disappointing individually, so I just want to finish the season well with a strong patch of form and go into next year."

It comes as match-winner Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera also needs to weigh up his future as both South Australian clubs vie for his services.

Wanganeen-Milera's stocks skyrocketed following his four-goal, 34-disposal outing against the Demons, including his clutch final-minute to slot two majors to cap off the remarkable comeback.

Marshall, who fed the 22-year-old the ball in the dying seconds of the contest, downplayed the moment as the pair were etched into football folklore.

"As soon as I got the ball, I saw a bit of space and luckily enough the kick came off," Marshall said.

"Nas went back with the flight of the footy, it was pretty courageous, and I guess the rest is history."

The duo were seen devising a plan when they realised that Melbourne had been penalised for a 6-6-6 infringement, and with the scores level and the masses of players heading deep inside 50, it was the heads-up play from Marshall and Wanganeen-Milera that determined the outcome.
