A father-son prospect with a famous name has made an appearance at Western Bulldogs training this week, with 2026 draft hopeful Levi West, son of club great Scott, linking up with the Dogs' pre-season program.
At the Kennel on Wednesday, the teenager was handed the chance to train with Luke Beveridge's engine room ensemble, slotting in next to skipper Marcus Bontempelli and finding a mentor in emerging Bulldog Ryley Sanders with some one-on-one time at the end of the session.
The young midfielder, who may follow in the footsteps of his seven-time best and fairest father and older brother, Rhylee, in pulling on the red, white and blue, is coming off a promising bottom-aged draft campaign with the Calder Cannons.
Levi played nine Coates Talent League games as a 16-year-old, averaging 12.0 disposals, 7.0 contested possessions, 3.1 clearances and 3.1 tackles last year.
That spell added to his commitments with Carey Grammar and local club Strathmore in the Essendon District Football League.

West, who is eligible as a father-son selection at the Western Bulldogs, is one half of a pairing of promising prospects that are tied to the club, with Western Jets small forward Khaled El Souki part of the Dogs' Next Generation Academy.
The latter has been named in the Vic Metro summer squad ahead of the 2026 season, having booted 19 goals in his 15 CTL games last year.
The Dogs held onto their first, second and third-round picks for 2026, and sent their fourth-round selection to West Coast.
