Outgoing Port Adelaide coach Ken Hinkley says he hasn't received "one offer" from any rival clubs, but alluded to some conversations already being had for 2026.
Hinkley will coach his final game next week at the Adelaide Oval, hosting Gold Coast after 13 seasons at the helm.
With plenty of movement around the competition, albeit not at a senior coaching level, the Power coach has been linked with the Head of Football role at Carlton, after the Blues wished Brad Lloyd a farewell.
Melbourne is the only club with a senior coaching vacancy.
He has also been flagged for a role in Tasmania, as the AFL prepares to welcome its 19th team into the competition.
Nevertheless, Hinkley has said he'll need a "long spell" before making any concrete decisions.
"I have not had one offer. Let's be really clear about that. It doesn't mean I haven't had conversations at different levels, but I haven't had any conversations around an absolute offer to go to any club," he told 3AW on Saturday.
"I am not in a hurry. I don't know exactly when that decision might or might not come, and whether that is this year or next year or when it will be.
"I like to be really honest … I just need to get to the end and I need to have a long spell."
When probed whether or not he'd return to the senior coaching caper, Hinkley did point to counterpart and premiership coach Chris Fagan.
Hinkley will turn 59 next month, but said the allure of becoming the oldest premiership coach, and topping Fagan, remains.
"I don't say never, but highly unlikely, I would imagine, I am getting older," he said.
"Fages is a great man, he is my pin-up boy. Maybe I am chasing Fages down. I would like to take his title as the oldest premiership coach in the competition."
