North Melbourne key defender Toby Pink has signed a one-year extension to keep him at Arden Street until the end of 2026.

Pink joined the Kangaroos as a delisted free agent in 2023 after spending time at Sydney on the club's rookie list.

The 26-year-old failed to play a game for the Swans after three years, but has quickly become a regular under Alastair Clarkson.

Following his delisting from Sydney, Pink spent time in the SANFL for Glenelg, and was a significant cog in the club's 2023 premiership triumph, which ultimately led to his redrafting.

He has played 28 games since his debut in Round 1, 2024.

North Melbourne Head of Football talent Brady Rawlings said the extension serves as a reward for Pink's "determination".

"Toby's story is a fantastic one of resilience and hard work. He earned his opportunity through sheer determination," Rawlings said.

"Toby has been a solid addition to our club since he arrived as a delisted free agent, and we're excited to see him continue to grow and contribute to our future."

Pink's rise to one of the consistent defenders in the competition comes from performances against the game's best forwards.

He recently took down Carlton's Coleman Medallist Charlie Curnow, but has also limited West Coast's Oscar Allen, Fremantle's Josh Treacy and Richmond's Tom Lynch.
