Four players have recorded a perfect 20 votes from the seven games of action across Round 16 as a Crows star has lost his lead by the slimmest of margins in Zero Hanger's AFL MVP race.

Jordan Dawson has fallen to second place on the leaderboard despite recording a solid 10 votes in Adelaide's dominant win over Richmond. Dawson recorded 26 disposals, eight inside 50s, seven clearances and 12 score involvements for the match, but it was Crows fan favourite Dan Curtin who received the most praise from our staff, earning 19 votes. Curtin produced a similar effort to Dawson, recording 26 disposals at 81% efficiency and eight marks, also contributing two goals and a further nine score involvements.

Dawson has lost top spot to Nick Daicos, who led the Magpies away from disaster on Saturday night, his 34 disposals and ten marks vital in Collingwood kicking things into gear to knock off a valiant West Coast outfit. As a result, Daicos scored 17 votes, taking his total to 147 for the season, a single vote ahead of Dawson's 146.

However, it was Scott Pendlebury who recorded the most votes in this clash (18), proving age is just a number with his 28 disposals, nine clearances and a goal.

Miles Bergman was one of four players to poll perfectly this weekend, dominating Carlton all over the ground in Thursday night's drubbing of the Baggers. He notched 25 disposals and two goals to take the heat off Ken Hinkley's seat and gave the Power an ounce of hope that a top eight is on the cards.

Zak Butters and Connor Rozee have also been contributing to Port Adelaide's recent form, having won three of their last four. On Thursday night, both of them recorded 30 disposals and combined for over 1000 metres gained. They deservedly took home 10 votes each and now both sit inside the top 10 of the leaderboard, with Butters in equal-eighth on 108 votes, and Rozee in 10th on 107 total.

Joel Freijah (20 votes) has been a revelation for the Bulldogs in 2025, and Friday was perhaps his best game yet. The second-year star dominated the Swans inside 50, kicking four goals and contributing nine score involvements from 23 disposals as the Bulldogs overcame a Sydney side nearing full strength. Isaac Heeney (15 votes) probably would have taken home a perfect 20 had the Swans ousted the in-form Dogs, kicking five goals from 21 disposals in a performance reminiscent of his 2024 best.

Jack Gunston and Jordan Clark round out the perfect vote-getters for this weekend. Gunston turned back the clock to bag a seven-goal haul against North Melbourne, utterly dominating their youthful backline in the 85-point demolition. Jordan Clark was electric off half-back in the Dockers' thrilling win over St Kilda with 31 disposals at 77% efficiency and a goal. He also led the Dockers in metres gained with 517 and took ten marks.

Despite the loss, Melbourne's late fightback was urged on by Jake Melksham, who kicked 5.6, two of those goals coming in the fourth quarter. With this dominance of Gold Coast's elite core of key defenders, he earned 19 votes, his first time polling this season. For the Suns, Matthew Rowell polled best, earning 14 votes for his 24 disposals and 11 tackles, taking his season total to 106.
