Gold Coast will unveil pre-season mature-aged recruit Ben Jepson for his debut on Sunday for the Suns' blockbuster clash with Adelaide.

Jepson joined the Suns over the summer as a Supplemental Selection Period signing, linking up with the AFL club after two seasons with VFL side Southport.

The clean-kicking half-back first moved to the Sharks after a promising spell with standalone outfit Coburg, where he made a name for himself as a leading backman.

After training under Damien Hardwick in the pre-season, Jepson won a contract with Gold Coast and would link up with old schoolmates Noah Anderson and Matt Rowell at Carrara.

He'll now join fellow first-year Suns Leo Lombard and Oscar Adams as debutants under Hardwick this year.

"These are the great stories of the AFL. Ben was teaching this time last year and has worked his backside off to get given an opportunity," Hardwick said.

"He's certainly earned the right to debut. He's an incredible person first and foremost, but the way he goes about his football, you can tell he just loves the game. We're looking forward to providing him the opportunity to represent our club in the AFL."

Jepson's inclusion comes as the Suns listed up to four potential changes for their meeting with the fellow contending Crows.

Vice-captain Sam Collins is likely to return from his recent calf injury, likely taking the place of Adams.

Ruckman Ned Moyle and Lombard are also a chance to return to the senior side, while midfielder Touk Miller is the only confirmed omission so far due to his hamstring injury.

The Suns will confirm their 23-player squad on Friday at 5:00 pm (AEST), and lock in their final team an hour prior to Sunday's 4:40 pm bounce at Adelaide Oval.
