Fremantle walked away from Marvel Stadium on Friday night without a win but with two points in the bag, now faced with questions over the fitness of their skipper Nat Fyfe after he was substituted from the game in the third term.
Fyfe, who appeared to suffer a hamstring injury, has managed just six senior appearances so far in 2022, dealing with a combination of shoulder, knee and back issues that have limited his time on-field.
Speaking to SEN's Crunch Time on Saturday, Longmuir said the club was hoping Fyfe had suffered a "standard" hamstring injury, but are waiting on scans to determine the severity.
"I think it'll be a standard hamstring injury for Fyfe, that was the call from the doctors last night," Longmuir said.
"You never really know with these things so we will get back and get it scanned. We're just hoping for a standard hammy."
The two-point scalp on Friday night moved the Dockers into third position, with the club now preparing for finals action. Despite their on-field success, off-field speculation of end of year departures from the club has been rife.
Rory Lobb has been linked to a move to a third club, with the Western Bulldogs firming as favourites to land the forward, but Longmuir has moved to quash the trade speculation, saying that he expected Lobb to remain at the club beyond 2022.
The 29-year-old is contracted for the 2023 season.
"I'm really strong on the fact that Rory's got a year left on his contract and he's a really important player for us," Longmuir said.
"If he was out there last (Friday) night, maybe we make a bit more of those contest situations in our forward 50.
“So, players like Rory, they are really important because they allow (us) to play two rucks and that extra tall forward at the same time. So, just really important to our structure.
"As I have said all along, he is contracted. I see him playing at the club next year.”
Despite reports Griffin Logue could be headed elsewhere in 2023, Longmuir also remained confident he would remain in purple beyond this year.
"We're in negotiations with 'Griff'," Longmuir said on SEN.
"Negotiations and talks continue on and hopefully we can get something locked away."
Fremantle have been linked with Melbourne's Luke Jackson, who may explore a move home at seasons end, while also reportedly expressing interest in fellow Demon Angus Brayshaw. The Dockers will need to clear salary cap space before acquiring the services of the two premiership stars.
