Delisted St Kilda defender Angus McLennan has made the immediate move to local football after being cut by the AFL club, signing with Northern Football Netball League outfit North Heidelberg in Victoria.
McLennan's three-year spell in the red, white and black came to a conclusion at the end of the 2025 season, with the 22-year-old managing three appearances under coach Ross Lyon.
The St Kilda Next Generation Academy product made his AFL debut in 2024 against Brisbane, recording 14 disposals and seven marks in a promising maiden showing.
McLennan managed just one further appearance prior to last year's campaign concluding, while a showing against West Coast this year in Round 10 would be his last at AFL level.
Having spent most of his 2025 season with VFL affiliate Sandringham, McLennan claimed best and fairest honours with the Zebras off the back of a 15-game season that netted 13.9 disposals and 5.5 marks per game.
After not being offered a new deal by the Saints for 2026, McLennan has opted for a move to the NFNL, with North Heidelberg announcing the signing of his services.
"Please join us in welcoming Angus McLennan to the kennel," a club post read.

"Angus joins us fresh off St Kilda's list, having spent 3 seasons there after being drafted from the Sandringham Dragons. Angus dominated this year across half back with St Kilda's affiliate team Sandringham, taking out their best & fairest.
"At just 22 years of age and joining us on a full-time basis, we can't wait to see Angus show his class in the red, white & blue."
North Heidelberg finished sixth on the NFNL Division 1 ladder in 2025, winning nine of their 18 matches to sit one win outside the finals cut-off.
