Lions AFLW star Jess Wuetschner is recovering after getting struck by lightning while working on the docks in Brisbane on Sunday morning.

The 27-year old is on the mend and suffered no physical injuries but was left shaken by the incident.

It was confirmed on Wednesday by Wuetschner and the Lions that she was taken to and released from hospital after the scare, which occurred just before 3am.

She returned to training on Tuesday night.

โ€œPhysically I am A-OK, but Iโ€™m still processing things mentally,โ€ Wuetschner said.

โ€œI am feeling a bit flat physically so will be resting my body.

โ€œI was very lucky and Iโ€™m feeling very fortunate.

โ€œThe doctors have given me the all clear to return to training, so Iโ€™m looking forward to getting back to footy, getting back to normal.

โ€œThank you to everyone for their care and concern.โ€

Brisbane women's CEO Breeanna Brock said the club had the full support of the gun forward in her recovery.

"We are just so thankful that she is all right," Brock said.

"A moment like this put things into perspective, that's for sure.

"We'll continue to work with Jess and our team here at the club to make sure she has everything she needs to get back to normal."
