Adelaide defender Jake Lever is set to leave the Crows at season's end with the Demons reportedly at the head of the queue for the 21-year-old.

The Crows and Dees will need to work out a trade for Lever, and following Adelaide's request last week that Lever was worth two first round picks, it seems as though Melbourne may be hesitant to pay such a price for such a young player.

Paul Connors, who managers both Christian Salem and Jack Watts, said the Crows asked the Demons about one of their star players, although Salem and Watts were not inquired about.

Connors suggested it was young Melbourne star Christian Petracca who the Crows were after, but shut down any play for him quite quickly.

"They haven't asked on those [Salem and Watts], but did one other. It was knocked on the head," Connors said.

"They [Adelaide] like him as a player... but he'll [Petracca] be playing all his football in Melbourne.

Would a straight swap of Jake Lever and Christian Petracca be a fair trade for both parties?
