Port Adelaide captain Connor Rozee will undergo scans on a hand injury that forced the Power into subbing off their star leader.
Rozee came from the field with a dislocated finger in the third quarter of Sunday's win over West Coast and was eventually ruled out of returning to the field.
The South Australian will sweat on a potential broken hand that could see him miss the coming weeks, with his coach not wanting to take any risks despite the game being on the line against the bottom-placed Eagles.
Speaking to media after his side's 26-point victory, Power coach Ken Hinkley said the club needed to take "necessary action" and put the captain on ice, with Rozee now set to undergo scans on his latest ailment.
"He's got a sore hand, I think he got a dislocated finger," Hinkley said.
"Then it was like 'We're not quite sure how this is looking, we'll take some necessary action here and take him out of the game'.
"He's too important to us. Not just today but the long term. We weren't flying, and would've loved to have kept him out there, but the right thing to do was take him out.
"We'll get a scan and see what it looks like. Whether there's a crack or not in the hand, we won't know until we get that (scan)."
Rozee wasn't the only injury concern for the Power on Sunday, with key defender Aliir Aliir (knee) and backman Josh Sinn (neck/shoulder) both requiring treatment during the contest.
Aliir entered the game with a heavily bandaged knee and would require assessment in the first half before playing out the rest of the game, including a strong final term to help cement his side's eighth win of the year.
Sinn was left to deal with a suspected "stinger" in the final term after a collision but is also suspected to have avoided any major injury concern.
"He's had a bit of a knee issue, has got a bit of tape on it at the moment, but his last quarter was pretty good. I think he had six or seven intercepts," Hinkley said of Aliir.
"He was fine, he got through the game OK.
"[Sinn is] the same. He got a bit of a neck stinger or shoulder. I don't think it's too much to worry about. We'll have to wait and see if there is (an issue)."
Hinkley also stated there was no issue for star Jason Horne-Francis, who was stepped on prior to half-time but was cleared to return to the field for the second half.
The Power now sit three wins outside of the top eight with six games left in the season, with their next contest to come against Hawthorn in Launceston on Saturday.
