Hawthorn veteran Jack Gunston has signed on for another 12 months amid a career-best season.
Gunston has defied the odds to produce arguably his best year to date, slotting 60 goals and counting, as the Hawks are set to embark on another finals campaign following their Round 24 clash against Brisbane.
The 33-year-old has been a long-time servant of the brown and gold, spending well over a decade at the club, which has included three premierships (2013, 2014, 2015), an All-Australian (2018), a Peter Crimmins Medal (2020), and nearly 250 matches.
Gunston will be the last remaining player from the Hawks' three-peat, as teammate fellow forward Luke Breust announced his retirement at the end of 2025.
He spent the first two years of his career at Adelaide after he was drafted by the Crows in 2009.
Gunston also found himself at Brisbane for 12 months, spending 2023 under Chris Fagan before returning to the Hawks.
Hawthorn National Recruiting and List Manager Mark McKenzie said Gunston's deal was greatly deserved.
"What Jack has been able to produce this season has been nothing short of amazing. It's a real credit to him to be playing at such a high level at this phase of his career,” McKenzie said.
"While Jack's year-to-date has arguably been one of his best, his influence at Hawthorn extends much further than game day – he's the sort of leader that takes great pride in mentoring and guiding our young forwards to be the best version of themselves.
"With his obvious class, forward smarts and experience, we're excited about what Jack can produce for us in the upcoming finals series and into 2026."
Gunston's new deal puts him in reach of 300 AFL games.

Great Job to Jack walk in All Australian
