This week brought major trade news and speculation, with new faces discussing potential moves and deals.

Multiple players have been tossed up as potential targets for rival clubs, while St Kilda and Carlton pose as this year's biggest playmakers.

Here's all the latest trade news and analysis from the past week...

ALL the retirements and delistings from 2025 so far...

North eye premiership Demon

Melbourne forward Charlie Spargo could reportedly be on the move as the 2021 premiership player weighs up his future at the Demons.

The Kangaroos are reportedly showing heavy interest in acquiring his talents, according to AFL Media's Cal Twomey, as they look to bolster their crumbing forward stocks around spearhead Nick Larkey.

North Melbourne could potentially use the lure of Spargo's family as a draw to the club. Charlie's father, Paul, played 81 games at Arden Street in the 80s and 90s.

Spargo is out of contract at season's end, and has been battling persistent injuries over the past few years.

Saints up offer for emerging midfielder

St Kilda have made a desperate play in the Marcus Windhager sweepstakes, reportedly increasing his contract offer from two years to a four-year deal in an attempt to retain his talents at the Moorabbin-based club.

According to 9News' Tom Morris, the Saints have increased the length of Windhager's tabled offer to close the gap between them and the reported length of North Melbourne's rival offer, which sits at five years.

Major Carlton update

Carlton has put their hand up for the services of delisted West Coast forward Jack Petruccelle as well as contracted Gold Coast midfielder Sam Flanders.

The Blues are set to be an aggressive player in the upcoming trade period, with Tom De Koning and Jack Silvagni to depart the club.

Troubled midfielder Elijah Hollands has been asked to seek a new home, despite holding a deal for next year, according to Channel 7's Mitch Cleary.

Charlie Curnow is also keen to depart the club amid interest from Sydney, Geelong and Gold Coast.

Much has been spoken about who will leave Carlton at the end of the year, but there are at least two names who are of interest to the Ikon Park club.

Western Bulldogs utility Buku Khamis, as well as depth ruckmen Liam Reidy and Ned Reeves, have been listed as potential targets for the Blues.

Major St Kilda update

Wantaway Carlton defender Jack Silvagni is reportedly set to meet St Kilda as he weighs up his free agency decision.

Silvagni told the Blues last week that he will be exercising his rights as an unrestricted free agent, with Collingwood, Essendon, and the Western Bulldogs believed to be interested in his services.

Now, according to Herald Sun's Jay Clark, the Saints have entered the race.

St Kilda is set to be one of the prime movers in the upcoming off-season after another player has reportedly become of interest: Hawthorn's Cam Mackenzie.

The name is well known to Saints fans after Mackenzie spent time at the club's academy in the lead-up to his draft year.

The midfielder was selected with Pick 7 in the 2022 National Draft, the year the AFL introduced wholesale changes to the bidding system, which allowed rivals to land club-linked players within the top 40 selections.

Now, according to SEN's Sam Edmund, the Moorabbin club is looking for a reunion with the emerging on-baller.

Demon eye Gawn replacement

Melbourne has reportedly expressed interest in out-of-contract Saint Max Heath.

The Demons have longed for a replacement for club great Max Gawn, who continues to defy the odds and fend off Father Time.

Gawn is contracted until the end of 2027.

Premiership Eagle seeks move

West Coast Eagles premiership forward Liam Ryan has requested a trade.

The one-time All-Australian has been widely linked to St Kilda and advised the club on Tuesday of his desire to be traded.

He is contracted to the club for the 2026 season.

Reid all about it: Eagles youngster commits

West Coast wunderkind Harley Reid has penned a contract extension, signing until the end of 2028.

Reid, who was contracted for next year, has committed to a further two seasons at the Eagles despite serious interest from multiple Victorian clubs, including Essendon and Hawthorn.

However, the former Pick 1 turned his back on Victorian offers to remain in Western Australia.

"I'm incredibly excited to sign on with this great club," Reid said.

"I can't wait for the 2026 season and beyond to see what we can achieve together."
