Disgraced ex-AFL reporter Tom Morris has been linked with a potential return to the football media landscape ahead of the 2023 season.

Morris was sacked from Fox Footy at the start of the 2022 home and away season following the emergence of videos and audio believed to be involving the former reporter which included derogatory and insulting comments.

The ex-journalist apologised for his actions, "unconditionally" apologising for the "disgusting and disgraceful comments".

Morris' departure from Fox came just days after his well-documented quarrel with Western Bulldogs senior coach Luke Beveridge, who questioned Morris' integrity in the middle of a post-game press conference following his side's Round 1 loss to Melbourne in March.

Beveridge issued a statement the following day, with the Western Bulldogs also donating $20,000 to charity.

"If I had my time again, if we had known the circumstance of what was happening in the door when I walked in, we would've been more prepared," Beveridge said in an interview last December.

"But absolutely it was the one time in my eight years when I felt I let my club down, myself down, because others had to wear some of that criticism, not just me, and that's what I felt most guilty about."

The pair could cross paths again in the coming years, with Morris said to have been approached by radio broadcaster SEN in regards to a role with the station.

According to News Corp, Morris could join Craig Hutchison's network in his first role since departing Fox.

SEN have undergone several personnel changes since the end of the 2022 AFL season, having seen respected commentator Anthony Hudson depart in favour of a move to 3AW.

In swapping stations, Brownlow Medal winner Gerard Healy has joined SEN ahead of the new season, coming over from 3AW with the Sportsday program.

Morris, a former 3AW employee of Healy's, could reportedly be utilised on a weekend show for SEN alongside former colleague Sarah Olle.

Morris has held previous roles with SEN, News Corp and the St Kilda Football Club.
