The Blues have been up and down so far this season, and there is no doubt that despite their efforts in the trade period, still need to strengthen some positions.
We continue our ‘Five trade targets for every club’ series with Carlton. The idea of these stories is to identify potentially gettable targets who could fill roles, not just link every club to the likes of Marcus Bontempelli and Patrick Cripps.
FIVE TRADE TARGETS FOR: Adelaide Crows, Brisbane Lions
With that, here are some players which will help elevate Carlton back to the top after so many years of heartache.
So in no particular order, here is it – five players we think Carlton should have on their hit list.
5. Patrick Lipinski
Lipinski will be a name that could attract interest from several clubs during the trade period, with the Doggies midfielder out-of-contract at the conclusion of this season. Given the depth of the Bulldogs midfield now that Adan Treloar has come in and assuming Josh Dunkley stays it is a probability he will be looking for a new home where he can take on a bigger role at.
He has been a solid inclusion in the Bulldogs side since his debut in 2017, with his composure under pressure being very welcome in the heart of the park. He would slot right into the Blues midfield with the likes of Walsh and Cripps and most likely not command too big a salary
