West Coast's assistance package from the AFL is hoped to help the struggling WA side eventually turn its fortunes back toward September contention.

The addition of Pick 19 is a friendly boost to their draft plans, adding to first-round Picks 1, 2 (via Oscar Allen's exit) and 15 (via West Coast), while the Eagles also hold the opening selection for the second night of the draft.

The addition of four extra rookie list spots will also give West Coast great flexibility in building their list, with the advantage in place for the next three years.

What they choose to do with these new vacancies will be intriguing, as the club could look to bring in experienced AFL talent to aid their burgeoning squad.

The Eagles will be able to add some of the best overlooked draftees in late November if they choose to do so, while state league level stars - much like Mid-Season Draft addition Tom McCarthy - will also hold value.

Here we look at five options for how West Coast could use their four new list spots.

2. Tom Berry

The former Gold Coast and Brisbane small forward has been linked to the Eagles since his departure from the Suns earlier this off-season.

The 43-gamer didn't feature at AFL level this year, mostly due to a long-term knee injury that significantly hampered his campaign.

He played 17 games the year prior, often as a conduit in the front-half who can also apply the needed pressure on opposition defenders.

Still only 25, Berry could offer the Eagles some needed two-way effort in the front half, where a void will open with the pending exit of Liam Ryan.
