We are now 16 Round into a 2021 season that has produced plenty of surprises and upsets.

Whilst several teams have shot their way up the ladder, we want to look at the players who have been driving this success.

Now that we have a big enough body of work, it's time to laud the performances of the players who have been each club's biggest improvers.

As always, let us know who we have overrated and who we have snubbed.

St Kilda

Jack Sinclair

After winning their first final in nearly a decade, 2021 has been anti-climatic so far a restless St Kilda's supporter base.

Luckily for the Saints, co-skipper Jack Steele is only getting better. Putting together his best disposal, clearance and inside-50 numbers to date (whilst ranking 2nd for tackles in the league), Steele is now the complete midfielder.

Dougal Howard has continued his development into an excellent key-defender. the former Port stopper leads the league in one-percenters and is relied on to beat the games best forwards every week.

However, Jack Sinclair has been the biggest surprise, breaking out for the Saints since getting moved to the half-back line.

The mulleted ex-midfielder has relished his new role in the defensive arc and has used his a proven ability to break lines, use the ball well and rebound out of a back-line under siege.

Having never finished in the top-10 of a club B&F count, Sinclair's consistency this year would surely have him in contention for honours following 2021's cessation.
