Kane Cornes has taken aim at Richmond coach Damien Hardwick for his comments on the umpiring of Friday night's game against Brisbane.

At half time the Tigers trailed the free kick count 21-6 and Hardwick did not hold back when asked about the differential at the main break.

The three-time premiership coach said the young Tigers midfield needed to get a bit of luck going their way in the second half.

The free-kick differential slightly improved in the second half and finished 28-16, but Hardwick was less than impressed in his post-game press conference.

“I loved it, it was really good,” Hardwick said mockingly.

“I think it’s a tough game to adjudicate - I think other clubs will get a fair idea on what they are paying for the rest of the weekend.

“It always seems to happen Friday nights. Holding the balls are back in vogue. We’ll see how it goes for the rest of the weekend. It is what is.”

Speaking on AFL Media's The Round So Far, Cornes refuted Hardwck's claims that the Tigers received the rough of the green and accused the Tigers of whinging.

“There’s far too much whingeing coming out of Richmond,” Cornes said and reported by Fox Sports' David Zita.

“They’ve had it all their own way for a long, long time...last week they spent the whole week whingeing, they whinged after the game they won, then they backed away from their comments.

“They whinge before the game and they whinge at half time on the national stage, it’s not a good look. You’ve had everything go your way, you’re done a great job, brilliant team and all that, but we don’t like sooks in this game.”

The Tigers sit eighth on the ladder with a 5-5 record and will aim to return to the winner's list when they face Adelaide at the MCG next Sunday.
