Collingwood youngster Charlie West has added two years to his current deal, taking it through until the end of 2028.
West impressed in his maiden season at the Pies, forcing his way into the senior side in Round 16 against West Coast following strong VFL form.
He played 10 games in the reserves, kicking 24 majors, headed by a six-goal performance against the Sandringham Zebras.
Unfortunately, the former Pick 50 was struck down after sustaining a foot injury, sidelining him for the remainder of the season.
"Charlie has been an exciting addition to our program this season, and we are delighted to see him remain at Collingwood," GM of List and Talent Strategy Justin Leppitsch said.
"After a consistently strong season in the VFL, he earned his debut at AFL level and has continued to demonstrate the kind of composure and talent we value so highly.
"We commend Charlie for navigating his rehab with maturity and grit, and we look forward to his return to the field next season."
West is expected to receive more senior opportunities as a pair of vacancies inside the forward 50 have opened up.
The departures of premiership duo Brody Mihocek and Mason Cox have meant that the Pies forward line will undergo a reshuffle, while recruit Jack Buller will also put his name up for consideration.
West joins fellow 2024 draftee Will Hayes in penning a new deal until the end of 2028.
"It's very exciting," he said on Monday.
"As soon as I saw the contract come through, it was a no-brainer. I love this club, and I want to spend as much time as I can here."
West assuaged any fear that he hadn't overcome his foot issue, and was seen training at full capacity.
"It's very solid (Monday's session) but more prepared for it," he added.
"We've done the work in the offseason. My foot is good. I've fully recovered from that. I'm back into full training now.
"It was tough (the injury). It was a big moment getting my debut, and then the next week, having a stress fracture.
"(I learnt) the resilience. Coming to training every day, doing everything you're asked to do and paying yourself next week."
