Carlton will wear orange socks this week against West Coast to launch their CARLTON RESPECTS program.
CARLTON RESPECTS is a family violence prevention initiative promoting respect and equality.
The players will run out onto the field in their traditional navy blue kits, with orange socks, a colour synonymous with respect and harmony.

“There are some alarming statistics around family violence,” Carlton CEO Steven Trigg said.
“In Victoria alone, police attend a family violence incident every eight minutes. This is simply unacceptable and we hope to send a strong message that this behaviour cannot be tolerated.
“As a football club, we understand that we are very much in the frame as social influencers. A primary prevention of family violence is through improved gender equality, a notion which aligns with our club as we strive to be leaders in this area.”
The Blues will also facilitate educational sessions at schools and and at not-for-profit organisations to promote equality and respect.
