Carlton has reportedly swiftly denied any notion of a trade revolving around spearhead forward Charlie Curnow.
Following Curnow's exit meeting on Thursday, it was revealed that the two-time Coleman medallist raised the idea of a trade, which was "immediately shut down".
It comes during a time when the club will lose Tom De Koning and Jack Silvagni to free agency, while the Blues have also announced the delistings of Orazio Fantasia, Harry Lemmey, and Alex Cincotta. Sam Docherty also retired.

Curnow is contracted until the end of 2029 and has previously stated that he will be wearing the navy blue next year.
But Sydney, along with Geelong and the Gold Coast, has been promoted as desirable destinations due to their proximity to the beach and the surf coasts.
They are also placed well outside the Melbourne football bubble.
However, the Suns don't appear to be a logical contender if Carlton were to negotiate a trade involving Curnow, given their youthful key forward stocks and incoming academy players.
Gold Coast do hold three first-round selections but are likely to use them at the draft.
The Swans have been screaming out for a key forward since Lance Franklin departed the club, and that position is arguably the missing piece in Dean Cox's side.
Sydney is still in the premiership window but struggled in the front half at times throughout 2025, with Logan McDonald, Hayden McLean and Joel Amartey failing to make a meaningful impact.
The movement at the Blues comes as the club is set for significant change under new CEO Graham Wright.
Moves have already seen three assistant coaches depart, as well as the Head of Football, Brad Lloyd.
Senior coach Michael Voss was guaranteed for 2026 despite a disappointing year.
