Essendon has emerged as a contender for out-of-favour Saint Nick Hind.

Daniel Cherny from The Age reports the Bombers are looking to Hind to replenish their pace stocks, which has been hit by the departures of Adam Saad, Conor McKenna and Orazio Fantasia.

The 26-year-old played 10 games for the Saints in 2020 but missed out on selection in the finals.

Hind has predominately been used as a small forward at AFL level but was one of the VFL's best rebounding defenders before he was selected with pick 54 in the 2018 national draft.

The speedster played 21 games and kicked 17 goals in two seasons at the Saints.
