Adelaide are understood to have potentially damaged negotiations with Matt Crouch, with the star midfielder believed to have been tabled an insulting deal by the Crows, according to Fox Sports' Tom Morris.
Crouch, who did not feature for the Crows this season after battling a groin injury, has been heavily linked to an exit from West Lakes as he is yet to recommit to the club past this season.
A restricted free agent, the Crows are understood to be willing to let the 26-year-old walk to a rival club should they receive just compensation for the 2017 Malcolm Blight Medal winner.

While discussions between the two parties continue, Morris revealed that the Crows may have low-balled the contested ball-winner in their latest offer.
“The Crows have offered him a two-year deal and are waiting for a response,” Morris said on AFL Tonight.
“I think he’s probably quite insulted by the two-year deal and that’s why he’s not going out of his way to sign it at this point.”
Should Crouch opt to follow in the footsteps of his brother Brad and depart Adelaide, he would be the latest key Crow to use the exit at West Lakes, with veteran duo Daniel Talia and Tom Lynch not offered new deals by the Crows for 2022.
The axed duo are both mulling over decisions on their future, with Talia gaining interest from a number of Victorian sides.
Melbourne clubs are also tipped to show interest in Crouch, who would boost a finals hopeful into a premiership contender should he rekindle his form from 2017.
Crouch has played 125 games for the Crows since making his debut in 2014, going on to earn an All-Australian jacket four seasons ago.
