Melbourne forward Mitch Hannan will remain at the club after signing a two-year contract extension on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old played 20 games for the Demons in 2017 after being taken with pick no. 46 in the 2016 draft.

“Mitch was able to have immediate impact on our team last year, coming in as a mature-age player,” Josh Mahoney, General manager of football operations told melbournefc.com.au.

“Mitch’s combination of speed and endurance allows him the flexibility to play as a forward and through the midfield.

“We look forward to Mitch developing his game further and building on his first season.”

Hannan kicked 22 goals last year after playing against Melbourne's VFL affiliate, Casey in the 2016 VFL grand final.
