A lot has been said about scoring this season since the introduction of the 6-6-6 rule.

Scores have dried up as teams adjust to the new system that was expected to create an open game.

But while scores are at a low, goal kicking accuracy seems to be in the positive, with 12 of the 18 clubs averaging above 50%.

Geelong are the most accurate team in the competition with a set shot accuracy of 59.7%. The top four most accurate teams in front of goal also sit in the top four on the ladder, highlighting the importance of being accurate in front of the big sticks.

Every team has at least one player going at over 50% from 10 or more scoring shots, although Melbourne's Jayden Hunt (52%) and Port Adelaide's Sam Gray (54.2%) the only two players leading their clubs accuracy with under 60%.

Essendon's Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti is the most accurate player in the competition, converting 82.6% of his shots at goal, followed by Mitch Duncan who averages 80%.
