Newly appointed senior coach Josh Carr looks set to radicalise the Power's ball movement in order to dynamise their way forward, and if it's as good as he makes it sound, Port Adelaide should find itself back in the Finals hunt in 2026.

Matchups against Adelaide and West Coast will allow the Power to test this new system against sides on both ends of the spectrum, giving fans a solid understanding of what can be expected from the black and teal.

While a seamless transition from Hinkley-ball to Carr's gameplan is unlikely, the Power would like to demonstrate an improved ability to win clearances and convert those into scoreboard damage, ranking 13th from scores from stoppages and ninth in scores from centre bounces in 2025, a significant drop from their rankings of 10th and fifth in these categories in 2024.
