West Coast is reportedly looking at splitting its likely Pick 2 compensation if captain Oscar Allen opts to exercise his free agency rights and move to a rival club.
Allen has been heavily courted by Hawthorn and Brisbane, although the latter is understood to be leading the negotiations, as they look to replace the retired Joe Daniher.
It is expected that if the Eagles skipper takes up an offer from a rival club, it would yield the second pick in the 2025 National Draft, which will follow the opening selection on the night.
Channel 10's Steve Allen is reporting that West Coast have already begun making loose plans to split that pick, with Gold Coast being targeted as part of the negotiations.

The Suns cashed in on draft picks last year from Port Adelaide and Collingwood during the three-club mega trade that also landed speedster John Noble from the Pies.
The Queensland club currently holds Picks 8 (tied to Port Adelaide), 12, 18 (tied to Collingwood), 30, 56 (tied to Richmond) and 66.
According to Allen, the Eagles could attempt to acquire Picks 8 and 12 in exchange for Pick 2 in the upcoming draft.
The swap would allow West Coast to stock up on young talent in a desperate bid to accelerate the club's rebuild after three consecutive bottom-three finishes.
It would also assist the Suns' plan to manipulate their draft hand to secure a high-end talent (Pick 2) through the draft, or use it to negotiate for a ready-made player.

Gold Coast have yet another influx of Academy prospects, and acquiring an up-and-coming star before their bids is another consideration for the club.
Zeke Uwland (brother of Bodhi) and Dylan Patterson are both linked to the Suns, and are in the conversation for top 10 selections.
